now that i have your attention...okay, not exactly. more like free gear...beta gear, that is!

tomorrow’s gonna be an interesting day.  the entire beta staff’ll pile into a car (SHOTGUN!!! ) at an ungodly hour for a saturday (won’t even get to watch my beloved irons lay the beat down on hull ) and do a whirlwind road trip to the Tour De Bloc stop at Coyote Rock Gym in Ottawa.

Off by 6 am we’ll hang out, sell clothes, shoot video and liveblog the whole enchilada (check in here tomorrow for up-to-the-minute info on the trip and the comp), hang out some more, give away some great prizes and then pack it up by 10 pm and hit the road back to the 416.

so, y’say you gonna be attending the comp in the nation’s capital on saturday? well we’ve got a few treats in store for ya whether you’re competing or just spectating. the only thing you’ll need to get in the game is a mobile phone that’s got a camera and can connect to the internet (which i’m assuming is all of ‘em nowadays) and you can play along with the beta facebook challenge and the beta twitter challenge and have a shot at some of the great prizes we’re giving away during the comp. trust me,  it’ll be fun like beer-pong but way less messy!

the prize:

3 winners will each get to choose one of the following cool-tastic beta items to take home

• a “stimulus” t-shirt
• a pair of bamboo boxers
• a toque

the deal:

1. become a fan of the beta clothing designs facebook page
2. take a photo during the comp tomorrow with your blackberry, iphone or any other photo enabled mobile device and post it to the beta facebook page.

the photos can be of people competing, random events, showing off your beta swag,  a still life with some climbing holds you find particularly interesting…basically, whatever rubs your buddha.

at the end of the day we’ll put the names of all the participants in one of our  magical beta toques and if you’re one of three lucky ducks,  we’ll pull your name out…or maybe it’ll be that rabbit again…y’can never be too sure…

but we don’t want anyone’s hard work to go unrecognized so everyone who posts a photo can either pick up beta merch at the comp at a 20% discount or will be e-mailed a coupon code for the same amount to use at our online store.  feel free to post multiple pix if y’like but the discount is limited to one per person.

the beta twitter challenge

we thought it’d be fun to recognize the fact that the Coyote’s comp is the 100th TDB event by giving away some prizes to mark the occasion.

the prize:

we’ll be giving away a one hundred dollars worth of  gift certificates for  some high-quality swag from the beta’s online store.

the deal:

follow the beta twitter feed during the comp for details, it’ll be part trivia, part scavenger hunt, part international incident, but all fun!

we’re looking forward to an amazing day with all the cool ottawa peeps, some serious plastic pulling and the chance to make someone’s day a little brighter by giving them some free beta stuffs!
