we’re just getting warmed up…
Posted by Frank in news, your brand on 2010/05/25
the weather has been AMAZING the past couple of days, non? everyone’s finally starting to shed their winter skin in earnest and slipping into something a little more appropriate for the warmer weather, patios and sunshine, road trips and cottage weekends. if you find yourself coming up “short” in the summer threads department, we’ve got some new styles that’d do the trick nicely, natch.
fact is, while most folks’ minds are turning towards thoughts of vacation, we’ll be working harder than ever taking Beta to the next level!

Well folks, you’ve been patient but the wait is over. Those of you fortunate enough to have been on hand at one of our local events or at various Tour de Bloc comps may have had a chance to get up close and personal with our new clothes but for everyone else, this is your first chance to scope our most ambitious collection to-date.

A little while back, Beta was contacted by a new GTA climbing gym Called True North Climbing and asked to design their t-shirts. Recently, the proprietor of True North Climbing, Jonathan Gross, dropped us some props courtesy of his blog. Here’s what he had to say:
The guys at Beta Clothing were a pleasure to work with. I figured if they were good enough to design and produce the uniforms for the Canadian National Climbing Team, they’re a good choice for our shirts.
We always do our best to meet our clients needs and are always grateful for the compliments they give us when they see the final product.
You can read the full post here and even order yourself a cool True North Climbing t-shirt.

a different kind of road trip...
so now that we are officially in fall, at times feeling more like winter (who wears a down jacket in October, seriously) trips to the crag have been slowing down, but trips to meet with clients wanting their very own bit of Beta has kept life very busy. The response that we have been getting from everyone when we explain the whole program has been overwhelming! Their reactions flow something like this: intrigue, surprise, shock, excitement, giddiness, salivating, and anticipation. Hey, we could have our very own seven-stages of Beta…much more fun than those pesky seven stages of dying.
during all of the meetings in the past couple months there is a constant refrain that I find I keep saying when people start explaining their dream garments, and that is…”we can do that” We can do that 2” collar, or invisible zipper, contrasting stitching, or embroidered company logo (by this point client’s are in the giddy stage) It is only when we tell them that their finished garments are typically the same price, or less than what they would buy from retailers do they enter into the 7th and final climactic stage of Beta.
although I am not shocked by these reactions as much anymore, seeing the excitement of our client’s never wears thin. Everywhere from Stratford to Kingston people are finding Beta, and discovering how powerful, personal, and affordable their own clothing can be. So as word of this program, still in its infancy, spreads like H1N1 it looks like it is going to be a busy remainder of the year.
cheers,
James

learn more about our custom apparel and imprint programs.
Has anyone else ever noticed that the larger corporations get, the more bland, boring, and vomit inducing their uniforms are? Need proof?? Look what the smiling faces behind any of your favorite fast food counters are wearing, nuff said.
Having lived through this misadventure of executives pretending they are designers, I know how much the end product can suck. I still have my former employer’s uniform I was mandated to wear. The black polo shirt (I think they opted for the burlap bag textured style) With the screaming embroidered logo on the chest, that wouldn’t bend…even if you did, and the flaming red letters of my job title on the back that you could see from space. Wearing that shirt in public is a type of embarrassment that should be reserved for high school and bad dreams.
So what are those of us with any creative inclination, and a developed left brain to do?? Well first you bury the hideous uniform in the deepest bowls of your closet and set aside some money for therapy down the road. Then you try to figure out where the whole design process went horribly wrong?!?
We were as confused by this as you are, and sufficiently disgusted by this supposedly custom industry, that we decided to throw our own wrench into the works. We want custom to mean just that, never seen before, ever!!! Something designed from the ground up, specifically for you. We want your company wearing something that gives your customers whiplash as they take a second look.
If this idea has you drooling over your keyboard, give us a shout, and we can help take your company’s apparel to places you never through possible.
